Our Story

Ms. Alice Darko

Mr. Faux Brown

In December 2017, six months after I moved from Houston to Atlanta, I met Alice during one of our weekly choir rehearsals. Afterward, Alice missed subsequent choir rehearsals and I decided to check up on her. Upon check up, she gave academic and work schedules as her reasons for not showing up. I jokingly told her I don’t believe her reasons and offered to provide her free chauffeur services to and from choir rehearsals starting from our next meeting.  On my first day as her chauffeur, I took her number on our way home and called her later. We had an awesome conversation and talked about virtually everything: Christianity, God, the choir, politics, family, friends, hopes, dreams, etc.

The following Thursday night, I sent her a text message to check up on her. The texting and calling went on for about two weeks and then I decided to pay her a visit one Monday evening. That was the moment I actually had a crush on Alice.  I was struck by her personality – everything I had ever wanted in a woman but never thought I could find any time soon. She had a charming, innocent personality and an infectious smile. Alice was calm and nice, and on top of all these, she loved the Lord.

Sometime in February 2018, I mustered the courage to ask her out because I initially felt it could ruin our cherished friendship if her answer turned out to be no. If you want to know what her response was, just meet me by the side and I will tell you everything (Lol).

Our Love Story

On April 15, 2018, a few days after my birthday, we both decided to take our friendship to another level and to start a relationship that could take us into the future.

During our relationship, Alice and I overcame doubts and fears instilled in us by past relationships. We learned to trust each other and to be vulnerable even when it was scary. We both shared our past and allowed them to shape our, sometimes, tense conversations about the future. That period of time, I clung to God’s promises step by step.

At this moment, we are so excited to start the next phase of our lives together and can't wait to celebrate with you in April!

Our Journey

It’s been God from day one. God is the author and architect of marriage. He has ordered our steps till today.

Our eyes are fixed on him and we know we will continually receive favor from God because the scripture says

"The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the LORD”.
